DeSoto, TX (Sports Network) - The latest details about the arrest of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant's are disturbing.

In a news conference Tuesday morning, DeSoto police captain Ron Smith said that Bryant assaulted his mother.

Bryant was arrested on a Class-A family violence charge on Monday after attacking Angela Bryant. The Cowboys wide receiver allegedly grabbed her wrist and pushed her away.

"She has some bruising on the upper part of her arm, one of her wrists is swollen, as well as one of her thumbs," said Smith.

Bryant posted $1,500 bond and was released. A Class-A misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail.

The 23-year-old caught 63 balls for 928 yards and nine touchdowns with the Cowboys last season.
