DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Candidate Indicted For Multiple Felony Theft

(DECATUR) -- DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James announced the indictment of Michael Rothenberg for six felony counts of Theft by Taking. A DeKalb grand jury indicted Rothenberg Tuesday.

Rothenberg is on the DeKalb County ballot to unseat Superior Court Judge Gail Flake.

According to DeKalb County Government, Colorado-based investment group Winterhawk Energy and Development Corporation gave Rothenberg more than $1.3 million in funds.

James said Rothenberg unlawfully transferred $440,000 into accounts he controlled, and illegally put the money toward personal use. James said it is a clear violation of the law, and a violation of the trust of Winterhawk's investors.
