ATLANTA -- The Georgia Lottery is joining Illinois in becoming one of the pioneering states to sell lottery tickets online.
It could bring in millions of dollars in added revenue for Georgia educational programs.
Set to start before year-end, Georgia Lottery officials say the Fantasy 5, Mega Millions, and Powerball games will all be offered online.
The Georgia Association of Convenience Stores is keeping a close eye on the internet plan.
They told 11Alive News that with 80 percent of all Georgia lottery tickets sold in convenience stores, they have concerns -- but they said they would wait to see how Internet sales affect walk-in business.
