SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Police in Savannah say a 33-year-old man was killed when he crashed a motorcycle into the side of a tractor-trailer rig at a high speed.
Savannah-Chatham police identified him as James W. Dorsey, 33, of Pooler.
Police spokesman Julian Miller said it happened at 1:30 a.m. Sunday He said Dorsey was traveling west on U.S. 80 when he failed to stop for a traffic light and slammed into the larger vehicle. Dorsey was declared dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
Miller said Dorsey carried no identification and the motorcycle registration had not been completed, which delayed identification of the victim.
