LONDON -- Lolo Jones, the 29-year-old American hurdler who made headlines well before the London Games by opening up about her virginity, is back in the news after posting an insensitive message on Twitter on Saturday.
Her tweet: "USA Men's Archery lost the gold medal to Italy but that's ok, we are Americans... When's da Gun shooting competition?"

The message, which wasn't well-received by some of her followers on the social media site, comes eight days after 12 people were slain at the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo.
Many fans quickly responded to her post, including one who said: "Yikes, you're probably gonna get some not-so-nice responses to that last tweet..."
Another fan said: "Please say that's a clever way of asking about weightlifting. PLEASE."
Jones later issued the following apology/explanation on Twitter: "sorry u guys only think of violence but I think of all the hunting I do w southerners in da south. Its impressive."
Greek track star Voula Papachristou made history earlier this week when she was banned from the Games for posting a racist tweet.
