(USATODAY) -- Less than 20 minutes after a 200-meter freestyle semifinal, Missy "The Missile" Franklin won gold in the women's 100 backstroke final in 59.12 seconds. The 17-year-old Franklin already won bronze as a part of the women's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team Saturday night.
Franklin's Olympic program includes seven events, including the 200 back and the 100 free. The rising star from Denver is among the favorites in every event in which she's entered in these Olympics and already has drawn comparisons to Michael Phelps.
