MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta Police officer was struck by a pickup truck while directing traffic on Thursday afternoon.
According to the City of Marietta, Officer James McClure was struck around 2 p.m. on the Canton Road Connector while attempting to stop oncoming traffic for emergency vehicles.
Reports say a Nissan Titan struck a Ford F-150 from behind causing the F-150 to move forward and strike the officer before he was able to move.
McClure sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Kennestone Hospital.
No other injuries were reported. Police said the case is currently under investigation.
