Lehigh, PA (Sports Network) - Garrett Reid, son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid, was found dead this morning in a dorm room at Lehigh University.

Howie Roseman, the Eagles general manager, made the announcement Sunday after the teams morning walk through.

"It's a tough morning for all of us in the Eagles family. Garrett grew up with this team and this makes this news even harder for us to process," Roseman said in the announcement.

"Our hearts go out to Andy, Tammie, Britt, Spencer, Crosby and Drew Ann. Coach has spent the morning informing his family. We ask sincerely that you respect the families privacy during this time. The team has been informed of this news, as has Jeffrey and Christina [Lurie]."

Lehigh chief of police Edward Shupp stated that, "This morning at approximately 7:20 a.m. ET our office received a 911 phone call for an unresponsive male at Sayre Park dormitories. Upon arrival, it was observed that attempts to revive the individual were unsuccessful, and the individual, Garrett Reid, was deceased upon the officers arrival. There were no suspicious activities."
