Pirelli is excited to start visiting schools with Chesley.
ATLANTA -- As the school year kicks off, 11Alive Meteorologist Chesley McNeil is teaming up with 11Alive's morning show mascot, Pirelli the service dog, to visit metro Atlanta schools.
Pirelli represents everything our morning show stands for - hope, kindness and helping people. Born without a foot, he will be a powerful example of hope, learning about acceptance and understanding.
And Chesley, master of all things weather related, will give kids an incredible behind the scenes lesson in the science of weather.
To be a part of the Hope and Weather Tour, fill out the form on Pirelli's web page.
You can also follow Pirelli on Twitter. His handle is @Pirelli11Alive.
You'll get updates on how he's adjusting to first real prosthetic and we'll be post the latest information on what school they'll visit next.
Pirelli is service dog with Canine Assistants, a Milton-based nonprofit that trains and places seizure response dogs across the country.
Starting Aug. 8, Groupon will be gathering $10 donations for Canine Assistants to go toward Pirelli's prosthetics. He will need a new one each time he grows, and he's seven months old now. To donate, visit Groupon's Pirelli page.
