Anthony Willoughby, 39, is wanted for failure to appear in court
ATLANTA -- Anthony Willoughby is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for August 8, 2012.
Willoughby, 39, or Atlanta is wanted by the Fulton County Sheriff and the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force for Failure to Appear in Court.
Willoughby was supposed to show up in Fulton Superior Court to face a Simple Battery charge. On August 20, 2011 Willoughby allegedly beat up his girlfriend in her College Park apartment.
He was arrested in November 2011 and failed to appear in court for a hearing in June 2012.
US Deputy Marshal Eric Heinze said Willoughby is known to hang out in Atlanta's Pittsburgh community. He said Willoughby has ties to the Pittsburgh Jack Boys, a local street gang.
"We have a previous history with Mr. Willoughby," Heinze said. "He's known to be armed and dangerous and he has numerous violations in his past."
According to the Fulton County Sheriff's website Willoughby has been arrested at least six different times since 2004. Charges range from battery to armed robbery to aggravated assault. In 1994 he was convicted of child molestation and served one year in prison, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections web site.
