CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Clayton County Police have arrested 29-year-old Kemra Matthew for Cruelty to Children and Aggravated Assault after four children he was babysitting got sick and had to be rushed to the hospital where one later died.
Matthew has not been charged in 2-year-old Jadien Stokes' death although police say they continue to investigate.
A police spokesperson says Matthew was charged for injuries he allegedly caused to his girlfriend's 4-year-old son who was rushed to the hospital along with his siblings.
Jadien's father Garry Stokes says he reported his concerns that his twin sons were being mistreated to the Department of Family and Child Services.
Stokes says he believes if DFACS had been more responsive to his concerns that his son's life might have been spared.
11Alive News requested the DFACS case file but was told it could take the agency several days to release the paperwork.
