DULUTH, Ga. -- Students at Grayson High School are preparing a celebration for an Olympian.
Students are excited about their newest teacher, Chaunte Lowe, an Olympic high jumper.
Lowe is a former Georgia Tech high jumper, a two-time Olympian, a mother and she will compete for gold in Saturday's High Jump Final.
But at Grayson, she's simply known as Ms. Lowe, the Trigonometry teacher.
Principal of Gayson High School, David Hopson says the whole school is rooting for Ms. Lowe.
Hopson said, "Early on in the interview process we realized she would be effective in the classroom. She was very well qualified , we knew she would be an excellent role model for our students we were excited about having her here as a teacher."
Lowe is a true Olympian who has soared to the top and inspired students she hasn't even met.
