JACKSON, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigations charged five inmates at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson on Monday.
According to Special Agent-in-Charge Tom Davis, the five men robbed and murdered fellow inmate, Laderick Cornellius Chappel, 33, of Albany, Ga.
Chappel was thrown from the second floor of a prison dormitory early Friday morning. Agents of the GBI Milledgeville Regional Office investigated the incident, leading to the charges.
An autopsy was conducted after the incident, later on Friday morning at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur.
The autopsy indicated that Chappel died from blunt force trauma as a result of his fall.

Dante Ray Myles, 27, Covington, Ga.
Niko Lamar Swann, 23, Atlanta, Ga.
Demarcus D. Crew, 19, Elberton, Ga.
Justin O'Neal Clinkscales, 27, Hartwell, Ga.
