ATLANTA -- A student board at Davidson College in North Carolina has suspended serving food from Chick-fil-A until students can weigh in on whether they want to continue patronizing the Atlanta-based restaurant chain following president and COO Dan Cathy's comments that he is "guilty as charged" of supporting "the biblical definition" of marriage, reports The Charlotte Observer.
The Davidson College Union Board - a student group that organizes College Union activities - usually serves free Chick-fil-A sandwiches about once or twice a year at its monthly "After Midnight Events," according to a release from the school obtained by the North Carolina newspaper.
The board will decide at one of its meeting early in the semester whether to serve food from Chick-fil-A, the newspaper reported. Classes at Davidson begin Aug. 27, the newspaper said.
