SMYRNA, Ga. -- All lanes were blocked on eastbound I-285 east of the I-75 interchange due to a fatal accident during the Thursday evening rush hour.
GDOT officals said at least one person had died in the wreck, which happened on I-285 between I-75 and the Chattahoochee River on the inner ring of the Perimeter.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area as the clean-up and investigation continued.
Traffic resumed normal flow along the highway after 7 p.m.
