GAINESVILLE, Ga -- A 17-year-old girl was thrown from the bow of a boat Saturday on Lake Lanier. The victim passed under the bottom of the boat and was cut by the propeller as she came up behind the motor.
The boat she was riding was towing a rider on a knee-board. When the boarder fell, the driver turned the boat to recover the water boarder.
The victim was thrown forward into the water when the driver suddenly slowed the boat.
The victim was cut on her back and legs.
She was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center conscious and alert.
DNR authorities say charges are likely in the accident, saying the victim should not have been riding in the bow unrestrained.
