CANTON, Ga. -- Canton police arrested two individuals and charged them with Smash and Grab Burglary on Monday at a Canton Shell Food Mart.
According to Canton Police, they responded to a call from the Shell Food Mart on Monday at 2:16 a.m. When they arrived, they found forced entry into the store.
Within an hour, police had identified and taken into custody two male suspects.
Police said Robert Goodwin, Jr., 24, and Anthony Alston, 19, both of Canton are being held for the offense of Smash and Grab Burglary.
Canton detectives recovered the stolen items, including beer and cigarettes. They also captured the clothing that Goodwin and Alston used to cover their hands and faces.
Police said they apprehended the suspects when the two males went to retrieve the stolen merchandise after hiding it in nearby woods.
