STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- Clayton County Police have issued a Mattie's Call for a missing man near Stockbridge.
Police said Jerry Gentry has been diagnosed with intermediate mental retardation, explosive disorder and bipolar schizophrenia. Police advise he has been off medication and may become combative.
Police said his caretaker dropped him off Thursday morning at the Lowe's Hardware Store on Mt. Zion Road so Gentry could visit a friend.
His caretaker tried to contact him by mobile phone not long after, but Gentry did not answer or call back. His caretaker then called 911, because Gentry typically calls when he is ready to go home.
Gentry is a 42-year-old white male, 6'0" and 240 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen in a red shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with information on Gentry or his whereabouts is asked to call Clayton County Police at (770) 477-3650.
