ATLANTA -- The Georgia State Patrol says 10 people lost their lives in Labor Day holiday crashes across the state.
There were eight fatal crashes in the 78-hour period that began Friday at 6 p.m. and ended at midnight Monday.
In addition, the patrol investigated 373 traffic crashes which resulted in 230 injuries.
Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said troopers arrested 240 people during the holiday period for driving under the influence. They issued 983 citations for seat belt violations and recovered six stolen vehicles.
