(USA Today) -- Michael Stipe is not a shiny, happy person when it comes to Fox News.
The R.E.M. front man is fuming over the network's use of one of the band's biggest hits, Losing My Religion, during its coverage of the Democratic National Convention and is telling Fox to stop.
A message posted to the band's website on Thursday reads:
"R.E.M.'s Losing My Religion was used in the Fox News coverage of the Democratic National Convention last night. R.E.M. today, through its music publisher, Warner-Tamerlane Music, demanded that Fox News cease and desist from continuing its unlicensed and unauthorized use of the song."
Stipe himself reserved the loudest slap for last. "We have little or no respect for their puff adder brand of reportage," he said on the site. "Our music does not belong there."
