Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Cavaliers re-signed swingman
Alonzo Gee on Monday.
Terms were not disclosed, but The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported it to be a
multi-year deal.
Gee, 25, averaged career highs of 10.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3
steals and 29.0 minutes in 63 games -- 31 starts -- with the Cavaliers last
season.
"From the start of free agency, we made it clear that re-signing Alonzo was
important to us and we're happy we've been able to do that," said Cavaliers
general manager Chris Grant.
Undrafted out of the University of Alabama, Gee was named the NBA D-League
Rookie of the Year after averaging 21.0 points and 6.6 rebounds with the
Austin Toros during the 2009-10 regular season.
Gee also appeared in 11 games with the Washington Wizards in 2009-10 and
played in 16 combined games with the Wizards and the San Antonio Spurs during
the 2010-11 campaign before signing with the Cavaliers on Dec. 28, 2010.
The 6-foot-6, 219-pounder owns career averages of 8.3 points and 4.1 rebounds
in 130 games.
