ATLANTA -- After 11Alive's Parking Bill of Rights unanimously passed City Council's Transportation Committee, it was passed unanimously by the full Atlanta City Council Monday afternoon.
The measure passed without discussion. It now awaits the signature of Mayor Kasim Reed, after which it will become policy in the City of Atlanta.
At 11Alive's request, the Bill of Rights was modified by Council Member Michael Julian Bond to focus on these three areas:
1) Working, easy to use meters
2) Clearly marked signs and spaces
3) Fair and just ticketing practices
A thousand of you have signed the Bill of Rights so far.
