WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Two US Marines were killed in an attack on a NATO base in Afghanistan late Friday.

NATO says the attack happened at Camp Bastion and Camp Leatherneck on Friday.

In addition to the two service members killed, three or four have been wounded according to a source with the US Department of Defense.

That source also claims the attack was a "sustained attack" and that "some planes and other equipment were damaged." This attack may be a result of a "breach of the outer perimeter" and according to the source the situation is currently under control.

Sources spoke on condition of anonymity because US military authorities in Afghanistan had not yet announced the battle.

Major Martin Crighton of the ISAF Spokesman, there was no organized demonstration outside the gate ahead of the attack. The UK's Prince Harry, who is based at Camp Bastion, was not injured in the attack. Crighton said the prince "was in no way in any danger."
