ATLANTA -- Do you find it hard to talk with your kids about their weight? If so, you're not alone. Several studies have shown that parents would rather talk about sex and drugs rather than weight.

This month Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is launching a new program called "The Talk." It encourages parents to begin talking to their kids seriously about healthy eating as a family to try to prevent childhood obesity.

Three Children's Healthcare experts joined us live Monday morning during 11Alive News Today to help parents and answer questions.

Dr. Stephanie Walsh is medical director of Child Wellness at Children's Healthcare. Trisha Hardy directs Child Wellness and Kathleen Smith is a Child Wellness program coordinator.

The full transcript of their chat follows. For more information on "The Talk" or other child wellness issues, visit Strong4Life.com.
