Walton Academy football player hospitalized

MONROE, Ga. -- A Walton Academy seventh grader was hospitalized after being injured at football practice Monday evening. 

Jon Ross Snell got hit during a regular drill, according to Donald Williams, Walton Academy's head football coach.

According to witnesses, Snell was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston shortly before 6 p.m. 

The coach said the boy suffered some bleeding on the brain.
