ATLANTA -- Atlanta has made its fair share of national lists, but the latest literally scrapes the bottom of the barrel.
The Big Peach was ranked the fifth dirtiest city in America by readers of Travel and Leisure magazine.
"In July, Atlanta became the latest city to ban smoking in public parks, with frightening fines-up to $1,000-for offenders," the magazine writes. "But keeping butts off green spaces came too late to help Atlanta's ranking as the No. 5 dirtiest city in America."
The city came in ninth on the same list last year.
The only cities beating Atlanta were Los Angeles, Baltimore, New Orleans, and New York, which was dirtiest of all.
