Toys R Us hiring 45,000 for holidays

ATLANTA -- Toys R Us is gearing up for what the company hopes will be a strong holiday shopping season and will hire 45,000 seasonal workers nationwide - about 5,000 more workers than last year, reports CNN.

The toy retailer joins a growing list of companies who plan to hire a large number of workers for the holiday season.

Target said last week it plans to hire 80,000 to 90,000 workers for the holidays.

And Kohl's said last week it would hire 52,700 employees for the holiday season.

On Monday, Walmart Stores Inc. announced it plans to give current workers the chance to work more hours. Also Walmart will hire more than 50,000 seasonal employees as it gets ready for the winter holiday season.
