ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police say someone broke into at least 30 cars at a Buckhead apartment complex overnight.
The break-ins occurred at the Cambridge at Buckhead apartments on Piedmont Road near Lenox Road.
Atlanta Police spokesman Capt. Adam Lee III said the break-ins were first reported at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. He said that although the thieves appeared to take items like GPS units and loose change, they left behind some more expensive things, such as a set of golf clubs.
Seventeen of the cars were in a parking garage at the complex, while the remaining 13 were scattered throughout the property, according to Atlanta Police spokeswoman Kim Jones.
The Cambridge at Buckhead is a gated community. Lee said police are trying to determine how the thieves got into the complex.
Investigators are now working to identify and find the owners of all the cars, and are gathering surveillance video to see if it recorded any of the break-ins.
Police are now reminding residents to remove valuables from their cars, or to make sure they are not in plain view while cars are parked and unattended.
