Interstate 285 between Ashford Dunwoody and Paces Ferry Rd.
ATLANTA -- Drivers will want to avoid the top end of the Perimeter this weekend as the Georgia Department of Transportation continues a massive repaving project.
Crews will be working from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. on Interstate 285 between Ashford Dunwoody and Paces Ferry roads.
There will be rolling lane closures going both east and west. Up to three lanes could be blocked in each direction at times.
There will also be rolling exit ramp closures in the same targeted area.
Drivers can take Mt. Vernon Hightway and Hammond Drive as alternates. Both roads basically run parallel to I-285 and will allow easy traveling between Alpharetta and Marietta.
Heading eastbound, Northside Drive turns into Mt. Vernon, which then takes drivers to Hammond.
Heading westbound, simply reverse. Take Hammond to Mt. Vernon which dead ends into Northside, allowing a straight shot back into Marietta.
