According to Dexter Chambers, the Atlanta City Council spokesperson "The rezoning vote came up earlier today and failed, 7-6."
Chambers said that the vote could, in fact, throw the entire Walmart deal out the window.
Developer Jeffery Fuqua made an appeal to city council during the Monday afternoon meeting -- the appeal was rejected.
According to a release from the city council, Fuqua is responsible for several Atlanta area "live, work, play" developments such as Town Brookhaven, Edgewood Retail Development, Perimeter Place, Midtown Place, The Prado, Lindbergh Plaza, Lenox Marketplace, Canton Town Center and Henry Town Center.
