Great Day of Service at Dunwoody United Methodist Church offers kids and adults a chance to give back.
DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Nearly 1,000 volunteers will donate their time to make a difference for those in need throughout Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and Roswell on October 13.
Dunwoody United Methodist Church will hold the Great Day of Service to support dozens of nonprofit agencies.
There is a project for everyone, and every single person can touch the lives of countless others through this day of community outreach.
The volunteer projects offered on this day include local, national and even global efforts, like Stop Hunger Now and the Atlanta Tool Bank.
"This day is not only about touching the lives of people abroad and in our backyards, it is about encouraging participants to reach outside their comfort zone," said Claire Rozeman, one of the organizers. "We can use the day to make our world a little cleaner, better and brighter."
Anyone can register at www.dunwoodyumc.org and take part in a complimentary breakfast and devotion before the event begins at 8 a.m. at DUMC.
Projects last until 1 p.m. and will be followed by a lunch hosted by the DUMC youth group.
