LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Gwinnett Tech recently held a reception to honor Dean's List recipients, a first-time event for over 200 honorees.

To earn a Dean's List spot, full-time college students must maintain a 3.69 grade point average or higher. According to Dana Urrutia of Gwinnett Tech, students enjoyed their honorable evening among peers and Gwinnett Tech faculty at the reception. Food was provided by the college's Culinary Arts students.

One of the Dean's Listers at the reception was Surgical Technology student Jeffery Scott Bailey.

"It's a moment to celebrate the hard work that I've done in the former semester and a chance to look ahead at the new work I'm doing now," Bailey said. "It's exciting to have that moment to take a breath, sit back and say 'Wow, I really did that!'"

Urrutia said the success of the reception will make it a regular tradition at Gwinnett Tech.
