ATLANTA -- The City of Atlanta has began a Sales Tax Holiday weekend that applies to energy and water-efficient products on Friday.
According to the Department of Watershed Management, the Sales Tax Holiday runs through Sunday, October 7. It applies to appliances and items that cost less than $1,500, and have the ENERGY STAR or WaterSense labels.
ENERGY STAR goods that are tax-free over the weekend are air conditioners, ceiling fans, washers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, doors, fluorescent light bulbs, thermostats, refrigerators and windows.
Sink faucets and parts, high-efficiency toilets, high-efficiency urinals, showerheads, and weather-based or sensor-based irrigation controllers.
