DECATUR, Ga. -- A jury has found 31-year-old William Woodard guilty of killing two off-duty officers in January 2008.
Officers Ricky Bryant and Eric Barker were working security at a DeKalb County apartment complex when they were shot.

Woodard's lawyers argued that their client fired in self defense, fearing for his life.
The same jury that convinced him will be hearing evidence in the penalty phase starting Monday. Fifty witnesses, including psychologists, will all testify during the penalty phase which could last about a week.
He could face the death penalty or life in jail for his conviction.
