ATLANTA, Ga. -- Children's author Judy Blume took to Twitter early Monday morning to express her outrage with Delta Air Lines.
The author publicly complained that she and other passengers were denied admittance onto their departing flight while their plan rested at its gate at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
According to Blume's Twitter account:
Hate you Delta! You closed the door on 5 of us who flew NY/Atlanta, ran to our connection, got there with minutes to spare, with plane with plane still sitting at gate. Next flight to Albuq not until 7:17. There goes Day One of visit. Grrrrr!!!
Dozens of people replied to Blume's tweet some with tales of similar situations and others with encouraging words.
11Alive reached out to Delta Air Lines concerning Blume's incident.
According to Betty Talton of Delta Air Lines:
Our DeltaAssist team reached out to Judy Blume shortly after her first tweet this morning but received no reply. DeltaAssist is our team of trained customer service professionals who offer assistance in real time through Twitter.
Bloom departed on her flight to Albuquerque on the next available flight, which left the airport shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.
