DECATUR, Ga. -- William Woodard has been sentenced to life without possibility of parole for the 2008 shooting deaths of DeKalb County police officers Eric Barker and Ricky Bryant, Jr.
Woodard was convicted last week of murdering the off-duty officers. DeKalb district attorney Robert James sought the death penalty for Woodard.

Monday, one of the jurors was dismissed from the case after speaking with the DeKalb County District Attorney.
The jury deliberated for more than seven hours over the course of two days.
