(WXIA) - A new online ad featuring former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee suggests Christians that vote for President Obama in next week's election will have their votes "recorded in eternity," and asks if those votes would "stand the test of fire."

The ad, sponsored by the Christian group Value Voters USA, suggests that voting for the president would compromise Christian values, especially in connection with election planks on marriage and right to life.

In the ad, Huckabee's voice says, "Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote for the values that will stand the test of fire?"

The ad uses slow motion images of a blacksmith forging words tied to the message interspersed with a woman walking in slow motion to a voting booth.

In analyzing the ad, Politico and the Huffington Post point out that the ad does not mention candidates by name in the video. In an email to Politico, Huckabee says that even though he has endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the video was asking people to think for themselves.

Slate goes as far as to say the ad is suggesting to Christians that if they vote for President Obama, they risk going to Hell for eternity.

The script of the ad is as follows:

In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect its sacred rights and duties. This generation of Christians must do the same.

This November, Christians across the nation will be put to the test. Many issues in America require hard work. But how do we know if we are building in vain?

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." (Psalms 127:1)

Christians across the nation will have an opportunity to shape the future for our generation and generations to come.

Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable.

The right to life from conception to natural death.

Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined.

It is an egregious violation of our cherished principle of religious liberty for the government to force the Church to buy the kind of insurance that leads to the taking of innocent human life.
Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire?

This is Mike Huckabee asking you to join me November 6th and vote based on values that will stand the test of fire.
