Real estate amendment passes in Georgia

(WXIA) -- The second proposed amendment on Georgia's ballot passed Tuesday, allowing state entities to enter into multi-year rental agreements.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, 64 percent of voters approved the amendment while 36 percent voted against it.

Supporters had argued that it would allow the state to negotiate longer leases, which lessen costs.
