ATLANTA -- With Thanksgiving travel just around the corner, gas prices in Georgia and across the Southeast continue to decrease.

AAA Auto Club South reported the average price per gallon in Georgia now averages $3.23, compared with $3.30 a week ago, $3.63 a month ago and $3.37 a year ago.

Nationally, gas prices average $3.44 -- down 4 cents from a week ago.

"Although oil prices inched up slightly, retail gas prices are expected to fall throughout the month," said Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman, in a statement. "Pump prices continue to look more attractive to travelers who plan to take a Thanksgiving road trip this year."
