ATLANTA - If the NFL season ended today, the Atlanta Falcons would not only have the number one seed in the NFC and the NFC South title, they would have a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Chicago Bears would have the two-seed spot as the NFC North division champion, while the other two divisional winners would be the San Francisco 49ers (NFC West champs & three-seed), the New York Giants (NFC East champs & four-seed). The NFC's wild card teams would be the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks.
In the AFC, if the season ended today, the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens would be the top two seeds as winners of the AFC South and AFC North, respectively. The AFC East winners would be the New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos would be the AFC West champions. The Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers would be the wild cards teams from that conference.
The Falcons and Texans are the leading teams in their respective conferences going into Week 11. The Texans host the Jacksonville Jaguars while the Falcons host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.
