NORCROSS, Ga. -- All this month leading to Thanksgiving, we're doing Random Acts of Kindness for those who give so much to others.
We surprised firefighters last week and nurses the week before that.
This week, it's teachers!
The Arketi Group, a marketing firm in Atlanta, decided to get involved and give $500 to "make a difference at a school," according to Micharl Neumeir, the company's principal.
"The School Box came on board and gave us an extra $100," Neumeier said.
11Alive chose Cheney Elementary in Norcross as the recipient of $25 to $100 gift cards for 13 different teachers whose names were drawn from a hat.
In addition, Arketi employees put in some sweat-equity by making and bagging popcorn for the school's festival.
We also surprised a kindergarten class at Connally Elementary School in Southwest Atlanta.
Teacher Paulette Intemann is one of the few teachers at the school who has a smart board, but the area near the board was bare.
"The floor is always cold," she said. "We just need something here so that the children can be comfortable while they're learning."
We brought her and her students a brand new carpet.
"This is awesome!" she said. "This is just wonderful!"
Do something special for a teacher you know this week! Send a photo of your Random Act of Kindness to email@example.com.
