CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- A teacher at Cartersville High School has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of behaving inappropriately with a student.
The teacher, whose name was not released, is accused of having "inappropriate contact" with a student from Oct. 15 to Nov. 8, according to Cartersville Police Chief Thomas Culpepper.
"The principal launched an investigation into the matter immediately upon being notified by the victim. We are cooperating with the school system in the investigation," Culpepper said in a statement. "Due to the age of the victim and the fact that at this time the teacher is only considered to be a suspect, no further information is being released."
