The fire was at the Versailles Apartments on Roswell Road.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- An overnight fire at a Sandy Springs apartment complex displaced four families.

Sandy Springs Fire Battalion Chief Manny Trujillo said the fire was contained to a shared stairwell in the hallway of the FF building at the Versailles Apartments on Roswell Road.

"The fire did not get into any of the four units, but all four units, the occupants are displaced at this time," he said. "Nobody got hurt."

Trujillo said everyone was able to get out safely through a separate exit out back. "There's no way they would have been able to get out through the front here. There was a lot of heavy fire when the initial crew went in. And they did a great job. They did a quick knockdown."

The fire damaged some wiring, which cut power out to the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
