ATLANTA -- Meet HopeMob: a national juggernaut of a charity that, in its latest endeavor, wants to make a truly merry Christmas for one Atlanta family.
HopeMob is the creation of Morehouse grad and former Atlanta pastor Shaun King. He finds individual causes, vets them, and posts them on the HopeMob web site, where folks from all around the world can join forces to solve them.
Here's King on the mindset of HopeMob: "Strangers who may never work together, from different backgrounds, races and ethnicities, can come together and do something good for the community. We tell these stories, and then strangers from all around the world choose which stories they want to support."
King has generated one big mob: more than 100,000 likes on Facebook and nearly 500,000 followers on Twitter.
HopeMob's latest quest is to fund Christmas for ten families in need in ten different cities. King is trying to find a family in Atlanta, as well as people to form his Atlanta "mob" -- and that's where we need you.
