ATLANTA -- Georgia's First Lady, Sandra Deal, joined volunteers and military leaders Monday to kick off the Red Cross' Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign.

The program is a joint effort between the Red Cross and Pitney Bowes.

It allows the public to send cards of thanks, well wishes and thanks to military heroes serving overseas during the holidays.

To ensure cards are delivered in time for the holidays, they must be postmarked no later than Friday, December 7, 2012.

Cards should be mailed to

Holiday Mail For Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

The public can connect with fellow card senders through the Red Cross' Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/redcross and through Twitter using the hashtag #holidaymail.
