ATLANTA -- The Atlanta City Council voted unanimously Monday to amend the city's parking enforcement laws to permit only enforcement of what the current signs specify.

The actual language of the amendment, "To amend that ParkAtlanta can only enforce what the current signs specify," was passed by a 13-0 margin.

11Alive News spearheaded an effort to enact a parking bill of rights for people parking within the city limits of Atlanta. That document said there should be first, working, easy to use meters; clearly marked signs and spaces; and fair and just ticketing practices.
