ATLANTA -- It's not Thanksgiving in Atlanta without Hosea Feed the Hungry. The annual event has grown to serve 10,000 homeless and hungry people with about 2,000 volunteers.

It's also grown beyond food. Free flu shots, clothing, haircuts and even showers were offered-all in space paid for by the Arthur Blank Foundation at the Georgia World Congress Center.

"I'm very overwhelmed with just the setting, the atmosphere and the people," said grandmother Seleina Row, who brought her family to the meal. "Just for someone to take their time to feed so many hungry people, it's just a blessing."

It's been 42 years since civil rights leader Hosea Williams founded the organization. Many who took their time to volunteer Thursday said it was a blessing for them, too.

"I'm working now, but I was unemployed once," said volunteer Nakeisha Person. "Seeing people in this situation makes me thankful for my own personal life, because it could have gone another way."
