VALDOSTA, Ga. -- Valdosta State University Police say they are interviewing more than a dozen potential witness about the death of a freshman from Lawrenceville.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results before making a final determination about the death of 17-year-old Jasmine Benjamin.
Authorities have already said they believe it was homicide.
But a commander with the Valdosta Police Department, Brian Childress, said police can't call the case a murder until they get a final autopsy report.
Officials say it could be several weeks before that report is available.
The aspiring nursing student was found unresponsive on a couch in a study room.
Authorities initially told Benjamin's parents she died of natural causes.
