JASPER, Ga. -- 16-year-old Joseph Addis made his first court appearance in court on Monday after allegedly fatally stabbing his stepfather with a samurai sword.
According to the Pickens County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Christopher Allen was stabbed following an argument late Friday night at a home inside the gated Preserve at Sharp Mountain community of Jasper.
Allen was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, where he died of his injuries.
The Sheriff's Office said the sword came from a collection of replica items.
Addis has been charged with Murder. And he will undergo a psychological examination before continuing through the judicial process.
