Adam Blake Bearden, 31, of Ball Ground, Ga., was arrested on Nov. 28, and charged with four counts of sexual assault.
CANTON, GA (WXIA) - A teacher at Creekview High School was arrested Wednesday, following an investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with four counts of sexual assault.
The teacher, Adam Blake Bearden, 31, of Ball Ground turned himself in to authorities Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators said officials with the Cherokee County School System had informed the sheriff's office of the allegations on Tuesday. Detectives executed a search warrant at Bearden's home Tuesday night.
Cherokee County School officials said Bearden had been reassigned to a non-school worksite Wednesday morning due to the criminal investigation.
Detectives said they believed the relationship took place off school grounds over a three month period.
Bearden was hired by the school district in July 2009 as a paraprofessional and began working for the school system as a teacher in July 2010.
Bearden is in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center and being held without bond.
